2003 Kent Hamblin GC Brazilian/Englemann
2004 Kent Hamblin SJ Cocobolo/Cedar
雖然還沒機會試彈 但從手工之精細 想必亦是不同凡響之極品

OK let me add some more comment. The following is some review
from another guitar forum:

Hi all... been awhile since I posted here, and my last post was about my first Hamblin, a brazilian/englemann Grand Concert. Well, I was so excited over finding a guitar I loved so much that I had to have another one! I ended up talking over a lot of things, mulling a bit, mulling a bit more, consulting with Kent, and in the end, decided on a Small Jumbo with cocobolo back and sides, and a western red cedar top. One thing I really wanted to do was have a guitar that was all wood (except for the obvious things like frets, tuners, nut and saddle) and to my delight, Kent was also excited about the prospect. After talking some more, we agreed on a spalted maple rosette, and flamed maple binding with an ebony overlay on the headstock. I asked about the logo, and left that up to him (usually in shellfish) but when February rolled around, it was also in spalted mapled, which looks amazing.

When I first got the guitar, in February, I was once again blown away. I was surprised by the brightness in the upper register. It actually is a little brighter than my GC, but it also has the resonant low end that comes from a larger body and a cedar top. It definitely has the 'Hamblin' sound as I know it, though, and so what do you know... the mids are great, too! What I discovered is that this is a guitar that will do pretty much what you want it to do, from a steely Travis style to a more muted fingerstyle approach. As my brother said (one of the few people I've let touch this guitar), 'Wow... this things just BEGS you to be expressive, doesn't it!'

Now that's it's opened up for almost four months (I know that's not very long in the life of a guitar, but it IS cedar) and I've adjusted myself more fully to it, I find that it really is the monster I hoped it would be. The action is incredible, the responsiveness superb. I've gone shopping for another guitar, and the truth is, every time I come back to it, it just happens to have what I was looking for. Combined with the lighter, silkier voice of the GC, I just can't seem to justify another instrument for anything but convienience. The pictures HERE really don't do it justice.

I am of the opinion that as Kent's reputation grows, and the number of owners of his fine guitars increases, I'm going to have a couple of extra-special jewels on my hands.

Also, this was the first (I believe) back headstock overlay he used. At any rate, there's nothing like getting anything from a meal to a musical instrument created by someone who loves what he does, and does it well. I can't stress enough how pleased I am with this guitar. It is by leaps and bounds the best guitar I have ever played, much less owned. Both of them are just amazing instruments. The way I feel about them goes far beyond the level of 'keeper.'

For a look at the GC, you can also go HERE.

Thanks for listening to me babble. These guitars deserve it.
